Using the Bookmarklet
- Dragthe "Rewind.ai, AI Tools" button above into your browser's bookmarks bar.
- Highlight text on any webpage you want to work with.
- Click the bookmarklet in your bookmarks bar.
- Rewind.ai opens in a new tab with your selected text already in AI Chat. From there you can summarize, explain, translate or ask any question about it.

Bookmarklet Questions
It is a bookmark that runs a short JavaScript snippet. Drag it to your bookmarks bar once. After that, whenever you highlight text on a page and click the bookmark, Rewind.ai opens in a new tab with that text already loaded into AI Chat.
Drag the "Rewind.ai, AI Tools" button on this page directly to your bookmarks bar. Do not click it to install it; just drag it there. If your bookmarks bar is hidden, press Ctrl+Shift+B on Windows or Linux, or Cmd+Shift+B on Mac, to make it visible first.
It works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Brave and other browsers that support standard JavaScript bookmarklets. The code uses only basic JavaScript with no browser-specific dependencies.
Most mobile browsers do not have a bookmarks bar, so the bookmarklet cannot be triggered there. On mobile, visit Rewind.ai directly. A Chrome extension with better mobile-friendly options is planned for a future release.
Rewind.ai opens in a new tab with AI Chat showing an empty input field. You can type your question or paste text manually from there.
Yes. It reads only the text you have selected on the current page and opens that text in a new Rewind.ai tab. It does not run in the background, does not track your browsing and does not modify the page you are on. The full source code is visible on this page.
Once the text is in AI Chat you can ask for a summary, a translation, a simpler explanation, a rewrite, key points pulled out, or anything else you would normally type into a chat prompt. The text becomes the starting context for your conversation.
It collapses four steps (select, copy, navigate, paste) into one click. If you regularly send passages from articles, documentation or research to Rewind.ai, the time savings add up quickly.
The default destination is AI Chat. To point it at another tool, edit the bookmarklet URL and replace /chat/ with the path for that tool, such as /translate/ or /text/summarizer/. The manual installation section on this page shows how to do this.
Create a new bookmark manually, give it any name you like, then paste the JavaScript code from the Manual Installation section as the bookmark URL. That produces the same result as dragging.
No account is required. Visitors without an account receive a daily free token allowance. Signing up for a free account increases that daily limit by 3x.
The bookmarklet needs no installation beyond a drag and works in any browser by opening Rewind.ai in a new tab. A Chrome extension (coming later) will add options like a right-click menu, an in-page sidebar and quick access to multiple tools without leaving your current tab.
